How to treat slightly potentiated well water in a mineral water company?
Hello,
Depending on the composition of the water, ion exchange resins could fix the potassium for sodium. The installation, simple in design, would only consume salts.
I am looking for a single column demineralizer. What do you recommend?
Mixed bed resins (mixture of anion and cation exchange resins) will allow simple demineralization in a single column.
The life of the resins will depend on the salinity of the treated water.
When the resins run out, they will need to be replaced or regenerated.
Is there a real additional cost for decarbonation?
Hello,
The cost of decarbonation depends on the equipment already present.
Two types of decarbonation are distinguished:
- with lime, which consumes lime and produces sludge (with the advantage of eliminating part of the suspended solids)
- on so-called "weak cationic" ion exchange resins, which are regenerated with acid
Upstream of a demineralization, decarbonation on resins is "free" because the regeneration is carried out with the excess reagent of the demineralization.
