What is an iron remover? Why are some "BIRM iron removers" and others include manganese removal? What differences?

Birm : The filter element used in the O2xydiser Erie Water iron remover system to remove iron has a dual function:
- Birm acts as a catalyst between dissolved oxygen and iron/manganese: hydrogen sulphides present in water, it considerably improves the oxidation reaction which transforms dissolved iron and manganese into insoluble particles.
- Thanks to its extremely active surface, the O2xydiser iron remover is very effective in capturing these insoluble manganese iron particles and hydrogen sulphides and removing them from the water.
- Periodically, the Erie Water 02xydiser self-cleaning iron remover system performs a backwash to remove all contaminants from the filter media and flush it away.
In addition to the proven oxidation process, the revolutionary feature of Erie Water's o2xydiser iron removal system for removing iron from water is its compressed air chamber integrated into the filtration system.
- During each regeneration, air is drawn into the iron remover pressure filter bottle through the control valve, forming an air chamber in the upper section of the iron remover pressure bottle.
- In service, the untreated water entering the pressure iron removal bottle is brought into contact, first with the air in this compressed air aeration chamber, where it finds itself super oxygenated, this aeration greatly accelerates the process of oxidizing iron and manganese dissolved in water, and also takes care of hydrogen sulfide by oxidizing it into insoluble sulfur particles.
