It all depends on the type of measurements you want to make...

If it is a question of regulatory measures, an "expertise" class device, therefore rather expensive, is necessary...

Afterwards, if your needs are different, simpler and less expensive solutions exist.

Hello. Sound level meters are regulated measuring instruments. They must comply with the 61672 standard and be approved by the LNE. It is better to seek manufacturers capable of meeting these requirements: B&K, Norsonic, 01dB, Cirrus...
